Meet Stephanie

Stephanie Barnhart founded SocialMinded Media Group in 2012, when friends with small businesses couldn’t see how to connect the dots between their profits, social media and writing: how blogs, SEO and articles could work to their advantage and bring in more ad dollars. That problem-solving mindset still shapes how we work. She works across code, website design and marketing, with a master’s in journalism behind it all. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, HuffPost and Sports Illustrated, and she served as NYC Editor and National Events Director at Mommy Nearest, leading teams and events in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington DC, Philadelphia and Boston.

That mix of storytelling, events and operations is what she brings to every client. She gets to know a business from the inside out, then builds what it actually needs. She still rolls up her sleeves on events, digital marketing, websites, memberships and operations, but her rule is simple: work smarter, not harder, and build systems that do the heavy lifting.

Snow is her other passion. Stephanie is the Executive Director of the North American Snowsports Journalists Association (NASJA), home to 150+ vetted snowsports journalists, and an editor and writer for Save the Stoke. She cares deeply about protecting winter and the outdoor spaces that make it possible.
